On June, 15, 2011 The General Assembly of the European Nuclear Forum (Foratom - http://www.foratom.org/) voted to join the Ukrainian Nuclear Forum Assosiation as an associate member of this organization. UNF Association was the first of the adopted by the European Foratom organization from countries, which are not members of the European Union.
UNF associated membership in such influential organization as Foratom is a step towards integration into the European Union. This will allow to co-ordinate positions on key issues of nuclear energy, to establish closer relations with European institutions, which are in relation to forming of the European energy policy and the development of nuclear energy, to establish cooperation and exchange the experience in the nuclear field with leading global companies.
On the 6th of July, 2011 the meeting of the Presidium of the UNF Association dedicated to the adoption of the Association as an associate member of the European Nuclear Forum was held.
In June, 2011. according to the main activities of the UNF Association and the European Nuclear Forum four working groups consisting of representatives of enterprises-members of the Association were formed:
- «Standards for safety and regulations»
- «Cooperation with the media and the public»
- «Energy infrastructure and project finance»
- «Education and stuff training»
The organizational meetings of working groups, at which leaders of groups and groups statutes, plan for the 2011 were adopted, were held on June, 23 and 24, 2011(«Standards for safety and regulations», «Cooperation with the media and the public»), and on August, 10 and 16, 2011 («Energy infrastructure and project finance», «Education and stuff training»). The Secretaries of working groups are the Directors of UNF Association according to their functional responsibilities.
